Different-Location Collection

If a depositor cannot make withdrawals at CCB branch where he or she made the deposits because of a job or residence change, the depositor may apply for different-location collection at a local CCB outlet with personal identification and statements certifying the change of jobs or residence. The depositor must fill out a “Deposits Different-location Collection Contract,” make appropriate notes (e.g. advance withdrawal, renewal, or remittance; and the name of the outlet and branch), and present the application, bankbook or CD, and identification (as well as the seal or password if the depositor requires them for withdrawal) to the teller. The teller reviews the information and stamps the third copy of the application, which the depositor keeps and uses to withdraw or renew his or her deposits. After the destination CCB outlet receives the collection request and the funds, it notifies the depositor that the funds are available for re-depositing or withdrawal. The depositor must sign the third copy of the original application and write down his or her identification number. If the depositor intends to renew the deposits (only for term deposits that are deposited and withdrawn as a lump sum), CCB outlet will provide a new CD that lists the original date of depositing, interest rate, amount or duration; if the depositor intends to withdraw cash, CCB outlet pays out cash.

CCB charges a fee for this service. If either the source or destination outlet is not a CCB outlet, the charge is 8‰ of the deposits, with the minimum charge being 5 RMB. If both the source and destination outlets are CCB outlets, one of the following two rates is applicable. If the depositor requests the service because of a job or residence change, the charge is 2‰ of the deposits, with the minimum being 2 RMB. If the depositor requests the service for a reason other than the above, the charge is 8‰, with the minimum being RMB 3. If the depositor requests transmission by telegraph, he or she must pay the fee charged by the postal service.
